Discover Cook Island Aquatic Reserve

Welcome to the ultimate Gold Coast diving experience at Cook Island Marine Reserve — one of the most iconic and vibrant dive sites on Australia’s east coast.

Located just off Fingal Head, Cook Island is famous for its incredible opportunities to get up close with turtles and experience amazing ocean views. The area boasts a profusion of marine life and captivating rocky reefs, featuring a mix of tropical and subtropical fish.

Known to the local Indigenous community as Jungarra Ngarrian (Turtle Island), Cook Island is surrounded by clear, sheltered waters that make it an ideal location for divers of all levels. Its volcanic reef structure creates a unique underwater landscape of swim-throughs, rocky ledges, and coral gardens teeming with life.

Whether you choose a bright morning dive or an enchanting night dive, Cook Island offers an unforgettable glimpse into one of the most diverse marine ecosystems on Australia’s east coast.

Plan for Seasickness!

We strongly recommend taking a seasickness remedy 30 minutes before boarding (as well as the night before if you want extra insurance) and bringing the rest with you. Travacalm original, Travalcalm HO and Kwells are 3 recommended types. Ginger/Natural remedy does not work. We are not able to provide any medications.

Conservation and Respect

Visitors are encouraged to follow responsible diving practices, such as refraining from touching or disturbing marine life and respecting diving areas.
